感染型リーフバック（ブリスターバック）

概要 / Overview

カラー細菌を遥かに超える危険度を持つ新種病原体「レッド・プレイグ」を実装する大型MOD「The Red Plague」に登場する、レッド・プレイグに感染したリーフバック。

他の感染生物とは異なり、穏やかな性質こそ変わっていないものの、その身体はほとんど原型を留めない肉塊のような形状へと変異している。

Unlike other infected creatures, it retains its docile nature, but its body has mutated into a mass of flesh that bears almost no resemblance to its original form.

通常種と同じく、海面付近をゆっくりと遊泳している。自ら攻撃してくることはないが、苦悶にも似た低い唸り声を発することが確認されている。

特徴的な背中の微小生態系は完全には失われておらず、背中の外殻は多くの植物やサンゴで覆われている。その中には、プレイグ由来の素材である「プレイグ触媒」が生成されているのが確認できる。プレイグ触媒はプレイグに汚染された危険な環境で発見されることが多く、プレイグに関連する多くの素材や装備の製作に要求される。そのため、本種はプレイグ触媒の安全な入手手段として利用できる。

ただし、本種に接近する際は必ず背中側から向かうこと。腹部には多数の巨大な水疱（blister）が形成されており、これらは接触あるいは時間経過で破裂し、周囲にプレイグ物質を拡散させる。破裂時には衝撃によるダメージと、飛散したプレイグ物質による感染度上昇という二重の被害を受けるため、無警戒な接近は極めて危険である。乗り物に対しても損傷を与えるため、シーモスなどを使用する場合は、安全距離を確保した位置に停泊させること。

なお、破裂した水疱からは「未知の残骸（Mysterious Remains）」が排出されることがある。貴重なアイテムを生成できる可能性があるため、見つけた場合は回収しておくのが望ましい。

Like an ordinary Reefback, it swims slowly near the ocean’s surface. Although it does not attack on its own, it has been observed producing low groans resembling sounds of agony.

Its distinctive dorsal micro-ecosystem has not been completely lost, and the shell on its back remains covered with numerous plants and corals. Plague Catalyst, a material originating from the plague, can be found forming among them. Plague Catalyst is often found in dangerous environments contaminated by the plague and is required to craft many plague-related materials and pieces of equipment. This makes the creature a safe means of obtaining Plague Catalyst.

However, always approach this creature from above, toward its back. Numerous large blisters have formed across its underside, and they rupture either when touched or over time, dispersing plague matter into the surrounding area. A rupture inflicts both impact damage and an increase in infection from the scattered plague matter, making a careless approach extremely dangerous. The blast can also damage vehicles, so when using a Seamoth or similar vehicle, leave it parked at a safe distance.

Ruptured blisters may also expel Mysterious Remains. As they may be used to produce a valuable item, it is advisable to collect them whenever they are found.
