1. 眼球:
眼球を支える筋繊維は断裂した後、急速に再生し、周囲の筋細胞へ再結合する性質を持つ。これにより、眼球を本体から切り離すことができる。眼球は投射物のように射出され、周囲の地形、生物、あるいは人間にぶつけることで、環境への干渉や獲物への攻撃に利用される。
アイアイ・キャプテンは通常のアイアイよりも大型の体を持つ。これにより、眼球を射出する際の反動に耐えることができる。

This specimen appears similar to the native lifeform designated 'eyeye', but has multiple distinct features resulting from prolonged exposure to the Red Plague.
1. Eye:
Its eye can be detached due to muscle fibers that can rip then rapidly regrow and rebind to nearby muscle cells. Its eye can be launched like a projectile at nearby terrain, creatures, or humans to interact with the environment and harm its prey.
The eyeye captain has a larger body than the eyeye; this allows it to handle the recoil of the eye detaching from its socket to manipulate objects or creatures.

大型MOD「The Red Plague」に登場する、レッド・プレイグに感染して変異したアイアイ。
An Eyeye mutated by infection with the Red Plague, featured in the large-scale mod The Red Plague.

通常のアイアイと同様に動きは緩慢だが、特徴的な大きな単眼を射出して攻撃するという異常な能力を獲得している。射出後の眼は短時間で急速に再生され、何度でも攻撃を繰り返すことが可能。
眼球は高速で射出され、視認してからの回避はほぼ不可能。本種がこちらに視線を向け、狙いを定める動作を見せた場合は正面から退避すること。
一見すると通常のアイアイとの区別が付きにくいが、通常種よりも明らかに大型の体躯を持ち、眼球にはよく目立つ黄色い虹彩が見られる。また、通常のアイアイが十字状に配置された4枚のヒレをゆっくりと波打たせながら泳ぐのに対し、本種のヒレは上下2枚のみであり、尾ビレを左右に振りながら泳ぐという特徴がある。
Like the standard Eyeye, it moves relatively slowly, but has gained the unusual ability to attack by launching its distinctive large eye. After being fired, the eye rapidly regenerates within a short period of time, allowing the creature to repeat the attack indefinitely.
The eye is launched at high speed, making it nearly impossible to dodge on reaction. If the creature turns its gaze toward the player and appears to take aim, move out of its line of fire.
Although it can be difficult to distinguish from a standard Eyeye at first glance, it has a noticeably larger body and a prominent yellow iris. In addition, whereas the standard Eyeye swims by slowly undulating four fins arranged in a cross-like pattern, this species has only two fins positioned above and below the body and swims by sweeping its single tail fin from side to side.

- データバンクの末尾に記された “Ahoy, matey!” は、「よう、相棒！」といった意味を持つ、船乗りや海賊を連想させる英語の掛け声である。さらに、本種の英名 “Eyeye Captain” 自体も、船員が船長の命令に応じる際の “Aye aye, Captain!”（了解、船長！）をもじったダジャレとなっている。こうした船乗りにまつわる言葉遊びを重ねた記述は、ゲーム内PDAエントリに時折見られる独特のユーモアを反映したものといえる。
- レッド・プレイグの影響によってアイアイから変異した生物には、本種のほかに「ティースティース」が存在する。現時点で、異なる2種類の変異個体が確認されている原生生物はアイアイのみである。
- The phrase “Ahoy, matey!” at the end of the databank entry is a nautical greeting commonly associated with sailors and pirates, roughly meaning “Hey there, mate!” The creature's English name, “Eyeye Captain,” is itself a pun on “Aye aye, Captain!”, a phrase traditionally used by sailors to acknowledge a captain's order. This combination of nautical wordplay reflects the distinctive sense of humor occasionally found in in-game PDA entries.
- In addition to the Eyeye Captain, the “Teethteeth” is another creature mutated from the Eyeye as a result of exposure to the Red Plague. At present, the Eyeye is the only native species known to have two distinct mutated forms.
